The Unmanned Systems and Robotics Interoperability Center is a non-profit business league whose mission is to promote the research, development and application of robotic systems and cost effective software solutions through the use of standardized interfaces. To meet this goal, USARIC will provide information regarding available products and services available to the unmanned systems community.

USARIC serves as a launch pad for newcomers to the unmanned systems and robotics software community in an effort to bring together all interested parties in open discussion on implementation and standardization for robot and unmanned systems software. We provide documentation and resources for software offerings, implementations, and projects. We bring together and recognize companies providing unmanned systems and robotics software services and solutions. Our intent is to promote our member companies while stimulating an accelerated industry growth.

Our members support the hosting of this site with their contributions so please look through the product and services pages. Come back often to check for updates as our industry is growing quickly.

Software

Open Source

  • The JAUS Tool Set is a new open source code generator that exploits the Services based approach of the SAE JAUS standards.
  • OpenJAUS provides a JAUS Reference Architecture based software solution also as open source.
  • Junior Middleware, the JAUS Router, is a dual licensed implementation of the SAE AS5669A JAUS Transport Standard. Now available with the LGPL!
  • JAUS++ is an open source C++ implementation of both the JAUS Reference Architecture and SAE standard (AS5669A, AS5710, and AS6009) available under the BSD license.

2010 Student Competitions

IGVC, IARC, AUV and ASV

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International sponsors a growing number of student competitions each year. Visit their site at www.auvsi.org to learn more.

USARIC offers resources for the student teams to help them meet the requirements of the Interoperability Challenge component in the competitions. The list below is a good starting point.

  • The Student Competition Forums for the AUVSI teams to discuss the Interoperability Challenge rules.
  • 2010 Competition Rules. These have been updated from last year.
  • Competition Agreement form. Please fill this out and email or fax as instructed to get the standards documents. You must be on a student team and we ask that only one request per team be submitted.
  • JAUS Validation Tool. JVT proved very useful to the teams that competed last year. It cannot validate all the requirements, but you will know quickly if your interface meets quite a few of them.
